treatment

artist/style and form
attitude and personality:
very passionate about their style of music. they also like to put across there views especially enter shikari with there songs having an anti government vibe flowing throughout. with a day to remember we see that they are very passionate about bringing there audience into there performance by interacting with them by giving out free merch and asking what the crowd wants. both bands also like to involve a lot of movement into there performances which puts across there carefree and there enthusiasm when performing.

costume:
usually seen wearing skinny jeans, shirts and T-shirts usually with logos or slogans printed on them. this is quite popular with bands in the same genre and is a sort of uniform for metal core and post hardcore bands such as Enter Shikari and a day to remember.

Enter Shikari (left) have a very indie and grungy style which would match our bands style.
a day to remember (right) come across through there concerts and in interviews as the right sort of personality that we would want our band to have.

there were however bands in our genre that we avoided using their style. bands such as trivium and bullet for my valentine.

we chose not to use metalcore bands with this style because it didn't fit with the image that we wanted to create for our bands.

Mise en scene: our band would have the characteristics of both these bands. both bands are very active when they are on stage. with Rory from Enter Shikari crowd surfing on an amp and Jeremy Mckinnon from a day to remember interacting with the crowds at there concerts we took away that we wanted our band to have a similar feel and to have a similar stage presents when performing.

when deciding how we want our band to look we though carefully about how the bands we based as from looked and how much we could take from each band to make our band without it looking to ridiculous and tacky. this is the reason why we chose bands that have a similar style but also have there own take on it.

camera: with the type of camera shots and transitions we want to use they would have to be quick and jumpy from shot to shot to keep up with the tempo of the song.

target audience: our target audience would be boys and girls aged from 15-18 because this is the age range that mainly listen to this style of music. we questioned friends that would be our target audience here are the following questions that we asked them:
1. What is your favorite genre of music?
2. What is your favorite part of a music video narrative or performance?
3. Where they would like our music video to be set?
4. What they would like the band to wear?
5. What would they like the performance to focus an singer or instruments?
6. Do the like our final song choice?
7. How many concerts do they go to a year?
8.How much they spend on music?
9. Do they prefer to have a physical copy of an album or illegally download it?

we found out through questioning these people that they enjoy there music because they are high energy bands that interact and listen to what there fans want which allows them to be able to product music that is enjoyable for there fans. we then asked them as to why they liked there style, they said that it is because there style matches there personality, makes them feel more individual compared to other people and makes them feel more like there favourite artists.
we will use the information that we have found to try and make the video appeal to as much of our target audience as possible, this would ensure that our video would be more of a success.

Zinc Arts Centrelocation: we have an idea of what we want our location for the performance to look like, our ideal location would be a black room we decide on this because it would allow for us to film at any time and because it would go with the theme of the song. This is our ideal location for the filming. our back up location would be the hermit in Brentwood. we decided to use The Hermit because it was a more suitable venue for our band. this is because we wanted to portray them as being a smaller more unknown band. so by having their music video based in a smaller venue it would emphasis the fact that they are a smaller band.

technology: the technology we would be using would be fairly simplistic with us just using Sony hdr-cx190e cameras, tripods, final cut pro x editing software and studio lighting.

logistics:
problems we could anticipate
transportation to set, weather and people not being available to be in the video.
back up plans
moving equipment closer to the set a week before filming, optional indoor settings, multiple people that could be in the video.
any of your aspects of filming that could be too ambitious
finding the ideal location, different editing techniques that could be too complex

  1. At the moment, your blog is reaching a LEVEL 1. This is because there is minimal research and planning on there, as well as a lack of detail in the information you provide.

In order to progress towards a level 2/3, you must develop more information in your production diary about what you have learnt. You also need to ensure that you have labels clearly marked on your blog. Look back at the list on the hub about what exactly needs to be on your blog.

  2. good piece of detailed analysis, can see that you have really thought about your artist and what you want him to look like and target audience which is key. Also the fact you have looked at things that could potentially go wrong shows that you have planned thoroughly
